Upon entering my house, you will find:

  1. A clean and tidy home.
  2. A three foot teddy bear named, Calvin Gary, wearing a red cowboy hat and a bandana, sitting on a large painted rocking horse. He was made by teddy bear artist, Edie Barlishen.
  3. A bookshelf filled with many kinds of books including: spiritual, teddy bear, romance and general fiction, children’s, self help and a bible.
  4. My daughter’s bedroom (ready and waiting for a return visit from university), filled with some of her clown collectibles she doesn’t’t yet have room for.
  5. A bathroom off of her bedroom, with a friendship poem written on the walls, and various painted butterfly stampings around the mirror.
  6. A craft area, although tidy it still looks like chaos – similar to the office, with a couple of teddy bear heads all sewn, ready and waiting for a body to be attached.
  7. Various teddy bear and quilting projects not yet finished are also on my craft counter.
  8. Taluq Teddy Bears (made by the Inuit) sit on top of my craft area.
  9. A long stairway up to the main floor of the house.
  10. Work areas in my home office upstairs that are cluttered and look like chaos (but I know what each pile is for).
  11. An office full of desk, and filing furniture and bookshelves, projects on the go, a stereo system and a painting by Audrey Nanimahoo that we just got this past summer in Revelstoke BC, called “Two Become One” featuring an eagle in flight encircling a grizzly bear.
  12. Books, magazines and reading material are found lying on my kitchen table, on the kitchen counter, beside the chair in the living room where I sit and of course in the office.
  13. Dolls and teddy bears on every inch of dresser space in my bedroom (makes it really hard to dust around, so there is a bit of dust around).
  14. Sculptures, figurines, and knickknacks of Polar bears, Boyd’s Bears, Bunnies, Penguins (my husbands – not mine) and the odd stuffed teddy bear litter the dining room hutch, living room table tops and TV stand.
  15. An eagle’s feather sitting in a vase in my dining room hutch – a gift from an eagle (and my Aunt) that fell from the sky near our home as we were driving home one day.
  16. Robert Bateman nature prints and the odd print with a teddy bear in it are on our walls.
  17. A small basket of cat toys (which he seldom touches), and an old stuffed duck my dog, Dollar, loved to play with when she was alive (I just can’t part with it yet).
  18. Lots of blue, green and beige/brown colors – we are transitioning from the blue rug back to browns, which seem to dominate our lives.
  19. My bag with karate stuff sits by my bedroom closet ready to grab on my way out.
  20. A few shoes are strewn around the garage door entrance.
  21. Some exercise equipment in the basement, including a treadmill, a TRX system, and a rowing machine, a large ball, which needs some air in it. (Seems there is a bit of dust around this area as well.)
  22. In two closets (one in my bedroom and one in the basement) are several types of writing journals, some with a page or two written in, some for sale on my Journals and Papers web site.
  23. Two other closets hold boxes of two children’s picture books I wrote, all waiting to be sold. You really should buy one for a child.
  24. Under my bed is one plastic tub with an old quilting project in it, which I really hope to get back to some day – hopefully my eyesight will hold up.
  25. In my bedroom is a writing desk, which has my laptop on it, more bear figurines, and a lighthouse lamp on it – a reminder of our vacation to the Maritimes in 1999.
  26. Because we run Grassland Digital, a printing and graphics business out of our home you will find two storage areas filled with paper, envelopes, more paper and did I mention paper?
  27. In addition a couple of digital printers, cutting and bindery equipment and computers have taken up two bedrooms, which are now a work area and an office. (Good thing we don’t get too much company).
  28. New leather furniture, which visiting dogs insist on sitting upon, is in the living room.
  29. Photos of our daughter’s graduation, and grade school pictures of her are on various walls.
  30. Inner Spirit Photos taken of me are sitting on my husband’s dresser. The picture frame magically disappears every time our housekeeper and company come over. (Then reappears after they are gone.)
  31. A huge jetted air tub in the bathroom (I swear when I have to leave this house, the tub is coming with me.)
  32. Lotions, bath and hair product paraphernalia, and more lotions dot the bathroom counter. But, it’s all shoved into the corner, in an orderly fashion when company comes over.
  33. A kitchen pantry – not too tidy – holds a popcorn maker, a microwave, a few cereals and canned goods, along with a huge basket filled with various herbal and medicinal teas. Since Christmas, one can find another basket filled with way too much chocolate and candy.
  34. A TV in the bedroom – it’s nice to snuggle late at night while watching TV.
  35. A loving and supportive husband who together, helped accumulate all our ‘stuff’.
  36. Since building the house and moving in, eleven years of memories that I’ll share when you engage me in a conversation about my home and the things you see.

Hey Mark, no problem. innerspiritphoto.com is so awesome! I was so happy I did the photos when I did (I was so nervous), as I’ve had some injuries and now some scars as a result. So to have pictures of a time (turning 50 – yikes + 25th wedding anniversary) that was such a milestone is wonderful. I often pull the photos out and smile when I see how beautiful I am and for that I thank you. Ladies, what are you waiting for? You will find the photo shoot exhilarating and awe inspiring. The Laurie’s make you feel comfortable and welcome. Go for it!
