2011
I entered a contest for the 30th Anniversary Anthology – Freshwater Pearls: 30 Years of Aspiring Writers, of the Alexandra Writers Centre Society (Calgary – I've been a member for several years). While my short story wasn't selected for the print version, it was selected as one of the few "Online Contributors". Read it here.

In June, I was third place winner in the children's genre for my story, "Silly Bear" on the LinkedIn (Online) Aspiring Writers Group. Read it here.

My hardcover book, Little Blue Penguin was nominated Finalist (Canada wide) for The 2008 Canadian Christain Writing Awards.
1998
1998 Calgary Writers Association Sunshine Sketches Award for Fiction Writing, for my story, "Muskeg Mama".
1997
Recipient of the Calgary Writers Association Brendon Donnelly Award for Children's Literature, with the manuscript, "McKenzie the Duck", which has been reworked and published as, "McKenzie's Frosty Surprise".
1973
In high school, I entered a poetry contest through a radio station (the then CKXL in Calgary) to celebrate the launch of Paul Simon's new song Kodachrome from the album: There Goes Rhymin' Simon in 1973, and I won the contest and an album; my first win as an author.
